Flag Nerd is a geography learning and quiz app developed by 1092 Labs.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Flag Nerd mobile application.
Information We Collect
Flag Nerd does not require an account, registration, or login.
Flag Nerd does not ask for or collect personal information such as your:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Precise location
- Contacts
- Photos or videos
- Microphone or camera data
- Financial or payment information
The audited version of Flag Nerd does not contain advertising, behavioural tracking, analytics, crash-reporting services, or advertising-identifier collection.
Information Stored on Your Device
Flag Nerd stores limited gameplay information and preferences locally on your device so that the app can remember your progress and settings.
This may include:
- Onboarding and introductory-video completion status
- Music and vibration preferences
- Best quiz scores
- Best streak
- Level progress
- Levels completed or unlocked
- Best score recorded for each quiz level
This information is not sent to or stored on servers operated by 1092 Labs.
Android Device Backup
Depending on your device and Android backup settings, Android may include eligible locally stored Flag Nerd data in a backup associated with your Google account.
1092 Labs does not receive, access, or control these Android backups. Backup storage and restoration are managed by Android and Google under their own terms and privacy policies.
How We Use Local Information
Locally stored information is used only to:
- Remember your app preferences
- Preserve your quiz scores and streak
- Track completed and unlocked levels
- Remember whether onboarding and the introductory video have been completed
- Provide continuity when you return to the app
Sharing
Flag Nerd does not sell, rent, or share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
When you deliberately use the Share Flag Nerd feature, the app opens your device’s standard sharing interface with a fixed promotional message. You choose the external application and recipient.
Information handled by the application you select is governed by that application’s own privacy practices.
External Links and Email
When you choose the Privacy Policy or Contact Support options, Flag Nerd may open your device’s browser or email application.
Any information you voluntarily send by email is used only to respond to your inquiry. Your browser, email provider, and other external services operate under their own privacy policies.
Google Play Updates
Flag Nerd uses Google Play’s in-app update service to check whether a newer version of the app is available and to download an update when you choose to proceed.
When this feature is used, Google Play processes device metadata, the installed app version, and information about installed app modules and asset packs to determine update availability and expected download size.
Google states that this information is encrypted, is not transferred to third parties, and is deleted after a fixed retention period. 1092 Labs does not receive or store this update-service information.
Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored Flag Nerd data remains on your device until it is overwritten, the app’s storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.
You can remove locally stored Flag Nerd data by:
- Clearing Flag Nerd’s app storage through your Android device settings; or
- Uninstalling Flag Nerd
Clearing app storage removes preferences, onboarding status, scores, streaks, and level progress from the device. Android backup settings may separately affect whether previously backed-up information can be restored.
Because Flag Nerd does not provide user accounts or store user profiles on 1092 Labs servers, there is no online Flag Nerd account to delete.
Children’s Privacy
Flag Nerd is a general-audience educational geography app that may also be used by children.
Flag Nerd does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It does not include advertising, behavioural tracking, social communication, account creation, or user-generated content.
Parents or guardians may contact 1092 Labs with questions about the app’s privacy practices.
Security
Flag Nerd minimises privacy risk by keeping gameplay progress and preferences in local app storage and by not transmitting them to servers operated by 1092 Labs.
No method of device storage is completely immune from unauthorised access. Users should protect their devices using the security features provided by their device and operating system.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Flag Nerd’s features or information-handling practices change.
Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
